Changing Your Address

Changing Your Address on a Driver's License
In Florida, by law you must notify the Driver License Division of a change of address within 10 days of moving. You can change the address on your non-commercial license by mail, phone, or online, or by visiting your local office. If you're a commercial license holder, you will need to apply for a change of address in person at your local office.
For all license updates, bring acceptable identification documents to show proof of citizenship or legal presence.

At Your Local HSMV Office
Bring your current license with you and tell the examiner you wish to change your address. The fee is $10 and, in many cases, the examiner will be able to issue a new license immediately. Some larger offices may require a processing time of two weeks or more.
If you have a driver license issued before July 1, 1997, you will receive a change of address sticker to place on the back of your license. If you have a digitized license (issued after July 1, 1997), you will receive a new license instead of a sticker.
Florida law requires that you destroy your old license as soon as you receive a new one.
Changing Your Address on Your Vehicle Title and Registration
Florida drivers have 20 days to notify their local tax collector's office about a change of address for tag renewal notices. You'll be required to provide the license plate number of the registered vehicle, as well as updated address information.
If you visit the tax collector's office personally or mail in your request, records will be updated at no charge. You can also change your address online for a minimal service fee, payable by major credit card.
