    You'll need to complete an Application for Replacement Certificate of Title if you lose your vehicle title. You can apply for the replacement in person, with your current driver's license or photo ID, at your local tax collector's office. Alternatively, you may submit your application by mail to:

    • Mississippi State Tax Commission
    • Title Bureau
    • P.O. Box 1383
    • Jackson, MS 39215

    The replacement fee is $4.

    Joint Owners

    If more than one person is listed on the title with an "and" between the names, you must have both signatures on the Application for Replacement Certificate of Title.

    If someone other than the owner (such as a car dealer) requests a title for the owner, a signed power of attorney should accompany the application.
