There was a time when requesting a change of address or applying for personalized plates in New Mexico meant standing in a long line at the Motor Vehicle Division office. Now, thanks to the Internet, many forms can be printed off from the comfort of home and mailed in, or at least filled out in advance of a visit to the MVD. The New Mexico MVD Web site has an abundant selection of official forms that are free to the public.

Although some forms are available as a Microsoft Word document, most are in PDF format, which requires the free Adobe Reader software.

Renewing Your Registration

It should be noted that renewing your vehicle registration in the state of New Mexico is even easier than standing in line or mailing in a form. Although it is one of the most commonly requested forms, a registration renewal can often be done directly on the Internet.
