Check out the Ohio Revised Code online. The site contains the complete collection of Ohio's laws, and other important documents. Indeed, you can find anything from the 1802 Ohio Constitution to the laws governing liquor.

The Ohio Revised Code is broken into many sections containing laws for various areas. Title XLV (or 45) is where you'll find the laws for motor vehicles, along with aeronautics and watercraft. This section, known more commonly as the Vehicle Code, contains laws for all things associated with motor vehicles, not just the rules of the road.

Top Search the Database

You can search for what you're looking for in a variety of ways.

You can just browse the table of contents until you find the topic you need. (This is a good way to see all the sorts of information available on the site, while at the same time familiarizing yourself with the site.)

You may also search by keyword. For instance, if you're interested in learning more about the rules governing speed, try typing in something like "speeding limits" or "speeding offenses".

Or, if you already know the code number that pertains to what you're looking for, just type it in the search box. For example, code 4511.21 will take you to the page that contains the laws about speed limits.

Once you arrive at a particular section, you may choose to search for keywords just within that section to facilitate your search.

Top Check Your License Status

Whenever you need or want to check the status of your driver’s license, you can order a driving record report. This record will spell out if your driver’s license is currently valid. Should your license have been revoked or suspended, the report will indicate that according to what’s on record at the BMV. This report will also show points against your license and, in some cases, information on any accidents you have had.
